FAQ
Short answers about requirements, licensing, customization, and what EstatePoint does and does not do.
Requirements
Do I need Elementor Pro? No. Every EstatePoint widget runs on Elementor Free, including archive and single-listing layouts. Pro is optional and only adds its own Theme Builder workflow.
Is EstatePoint Core required? Yes, and it is included in your package. It registers properties, consultants, inquiries, and testimonials — deactivate it and listings disappear from the front end.
Why does it need Advanced Custom Fields? ACF powers the Listing details panel in the property editor. The free version is enough.
Which PHP and WordPress versions? WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 8.0+. See Requirements.
Do maps need an API key? No. Maps use Leaflet with OpenStreetMap tiles and an optional satellite basemap — no key, no account, no billing.
Licensing and updates
Does the theme stop working without a license? No. EstatePoint uses soft activation: the front end keeps working. A license unlocks automatic updates and one-click demo import.
Can I use it on a staging site? Yes. Local and staging hostnames are treated separately from your live domain and do not normally consume your activation.
How do I move to a new domain? Deactivate on the old site under Theme Options → License, then activate on the new one.
How many sites does one purchase cover? One live site per regular license, per Envato’s terms. Buy another license for another live site.
Demo content
Will demo import overwrite my content? No. Existing content is skipped, and re-running an installer is safe.
Can I remove the demo content later? Yes — each installer on the Demo Import screen has a matching remove link.
Can I import only part of it? Yes. The installers are separate; run only the ones you want.
Can I use the demo photos on my live site? No. They are licensed for demonstration. Replace them before launch.
Customization
Do I need a child theme? Only for code changes. Elementor edits, Theme Options, and content need no child theme.
Where do I change the header logo? In the header library template — select the Header widget and set the light and dark logos. See Header & footer.
Where do I change the property archive layout? In the bound archive template. Theme Options → Property → Edit in Elementor.
Can one listing use a different layout from the rest? Yes. All listings share one Elementor template, but the page shape is a setting: Content layout and Gallery placement in Theme Options → Property → Property Detail set the site default, and each property’s Display settings box can override both.
Can I change brand colors everywhere at once? Yes — Theme Options → General → Brand colors. Widgets inherit them.
Will my edits survive an update? Yes. Updates replace theme and plugin files only; your pages, templates, settings, and content are untouched.
Does it harden WordPress? Eight switches live under Settings → EstatePoint Security; five are on out of the box. See Security settings.
Listings
How many listings can it handle? There is no built-in limit; performance depends on hosting. Filters and map queries are built to stay responsive on large inventories.
Can listings use different currencies? Yes. Each listing stores its own price and currency, and comparisons run through a base currency. See Pricing & currencies.
Can agents add listings without wp-admin access? Yes — the front-end agent dashboard, with optional approval before publishing.
Can listings expire automatically? Yes. Set Listing expiry and the listing moves to draft on that date.
Is there an MLS or XML import? Not in the package. Listings are a standard WordPress post type, so a generic importer or a custom integration can write to them — see Developer reference.
Visitors
Do visitors need an account to save favorites? No. Favorites and saved searches live in the visitor’s browser, so they work without registration — and do not follow them to another device.
Is there a compare-listings feature? Yes. Visitors pick up to four listings and see them side by side on a compare page. Like favorites, the selection lives in their browser.
Is the theme translation-ready? Yes — text domain estatepoint, with a .pot file included and RTL-aware styles.
Support
What do I get? Item support through ThemeForest for the covered period, plus email support. See Support.
What is not covered? Custom development, third-party plugin conflicts, and server administration. We will still point you in the right direction where we can.
