Agent dashboard
Give consultants a front-end area to manage their listings, leads, and profile without wp-admin.
What it is
A front-end area where a consultant signs in and manages their own work: their listings, their leads, and their public profile — without ever seeing the WordPress admin.
It suits agencies whose agents are not WordPress users and should not be.
Set it up
- Pages → Add New, title it Dashboard (or Agent area).
- Set the page Template to EstatePoint — Agent Dashboard.
- Publish, and link it from your header or footer for signed-in agents.
Create an agent account
- Add the consultant profile — see Consultants.
- Use the consultant wizard to create and link a WordPress user with the Property agent role.
- The agent receives a login-setup email.
The link between the user account and the consultant profile is what makes the dashboard work: it decides which listings and leads belong to that agent.
What an agent can do
| Section | Capability |
|---|---|
| Overview | Their listings and recent leads at a glance |
| Listings | List their own listings, create, edit, and trash them |
| Inquiries | Their leads, with stage changes, the follow-up log, seen/handled marks, and trash |
| Analytics | Views, saves and inquiries for their listings over 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, with their top listings |
| Profile | Edit their public profile fields, photo, phone, WhatsApp, and availability |
The bell in the top bar collects what changed in the last 30 days: new leads, listings about to expire or already expired, listings published, listings assigned to them, and new reviews.
The listing editor is the front-end equivalent of the admin one: category and type, price and currency, size fields, address with a map picker and location search, photos, features, and documents.
Access rules
- Only logged-in users with the Property agent role can open it. Everyone else sees This area is for consultants only, and guests are sent to log in.
- Administrators can preview it.
- Agents see only their own listings and only leads for those listings.
- Agents cannot edit other people’s content, manage consultants, or reach site settings.
wp-admin lockdown
When an agent has a dashboard page assigned, they are redirected out of wp-admin to the dashboard. One place to work, no half-usable admin screens. A developer can reopen specific wp-admin post types if a workflow needs it.
Moderation
Agents can be required to get approval before their listings go public. With the flag set on the account, saved listings become Pending review and the agent sees a notice explaining why. An administrator or editor publishes from the Properties list.
Use it for new agents or franchise networks; turn it off for a small trusted team.
Publishing also requires a linked consultant profile — the listing has to have someone to attribute it to.
Rollout advice
- Set the dashboard up with one pilot agent before creating a dozen accounts.
- Decide on moderation before agents start adding listings; changing it later confuses people mid-workflow.
- Write down which fields your agency requires — reference, price, location, photos, consultant — and share it. The editor accepts partial listings, and browse filters read exactly those fields.
- Check the dashboard on a phone. Agents fill listings in from viewings, not from a desk.
